1. Make Your Specialty Clear

Do your research and make sure that you choose the specialty that is best for you. Then, start early by taking classes that are within that specialty, such as classes that focus on cancer and how it affects the body biologically. If you have made your specialty clear, it should be relatively easy for you to get into a practicum with a professional who works in the medical discipline that you want to participate in. A practicum is a period of time that you spend essentially apprenticing with a doctor or other medical professional to get real-world experience.
